peaceloveharmony,
So if you don't post on threads about evolution why are you posting on this one?
If someone lived a trillion X longer than you, and had a billion X more reasoning ability would he come to the same conclusions as you?
what do you think about evolution debates?.
this is not going to be a thread about which theory is correct.
i want to ask the board if anyone has actually found these discussions on evolution to be beneficial to themselves.

Rem,
Just trying to get back to your topic:
Admittedly this is a question mainly for the lurkers, so this post might not get many responses. But the reason I post this is to ask if all the time and effort we spend on this subject is just an exercise in futility, or do people actually learn from and/or enjoy these discussions? What a contradiction?
I’ll go first:
You ask for lurkers to respond and then you respond like your a lurker!
So shouldn't regular posters not be talking about the debate on this thread since you are regular posters?(and not lurkers).

how do you think the actor for the rev.
erik camden does the part of a true christian?
not only the actor but the part he playes.. .

there has been a number of threads related to evolution in the last month or so.
some posters, like penn, subscribes to a form of creationism, which i for this purpose will define as denial of large scale evolution (sometimes called macro-evolution).. even saner people sometimes alleges that scientists are unnecessarily 'dogmatic' about evolution, and that this is 'just a theory.
' these people may be recent exjws or jws, still believing the watchtower propaganda against evolutionary science, or accepting similar claims from various fundamentalist preachers and groups.
Abbadon,
Here is an intresting link for prions and evolution:
http://www.mad-cow.org/~tom/prion_evol.html
The discovery is a shattering blow for the evolutionary argument that because humans seem unable to contract prion diseases from sheep infected with scrapie, they would be unlikely to contract CJD from contaminated beef. The study, published in the 25 April issue ofNature comes from a team of researchers based in Oxford, in the UK, including Professor T. R. E. Southwood, a former advisor to the British Government on BSE.

Abbadon,
I just got home from work(haha).
I will look it up(Prions), but if you think it will help our discussion by all means post it.

Abbadon,
If I may correct a statement of yours:
As regards the actual debate, D wiltshire questioned how reproduction came about. Jan answered this well. Here is the answer Jan gave:
Naturally, the most primitive "organism" left little to help us know exactly what it looked like. DNA came much, much later. It has been argued that the amino acid form of life was a quite late stage in evolution, even though it is the only extant life form today. Perhaps the earliest replicators were crystaline structuresWhile I appreciate the answer Jan gave I can't say that the answer was satifactory and convincing. Don't get me wrong, this is not a put down for Jan.
Still all in all at some point the Theist, and Atheist as well have to use leaps of Faith in their conclusions. Even if both beleive in evolution.

I'm not saying evolution does not occur.
But reproduction how did that ever come about?
Let's say some amino acids by random chance form some type of organized system that we could call Life.
What would be the reason that it would develope the ability to replicate itself as an almost perfect copy by means of DNA.
Evolution could well be the way God made all the life we see on earth today. I don't know for sure.

matthew 24:14 and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

im new to this board game, but i have been reading the submissions and replies from .
Dhook,
You must remember that all that come out of WT Mind Control don't become Christians as it is with probably with the majority who post on this board.
Don't forget that many of us have family members that are still JWs and are shunning us to our hurt, so it is quite natural to do want you can to bring down this tyranical Organization, that destroys families, surely God can find no fault in that.
Exsposing hypocrisy is not a sin last time I checked.

for some reason i have been thinking about this question, .
and i am posting it here to get your comments.. the question is:.
would it be proper for a christian to work on the development.
I can't say if it's right or wrong for another Christian.
I don't beleive that a Christian has that right.
Jesus said to "stop judging and you will not be judged" with reguard to our neighbor.
I can only judge for myself as to whether or not I will accept such emploment.
Read the whole NT and it become plane that we are not under laws but undeserved kindness.
Which leaves us free to choose, hopefully we won't be making too any wrong choices.
There is no record in the NT that shows once a person became a Christian he had to give up military service, John the Baptist said that those in military service should not harass anyone that's all( but that advice was for Jews that listened to Him not neccesarily Christians).

who are the superior authorities in rom.13:1-8?.
are there any die hard old jws on this board?.
what about yardirf,yk,fred, or some other posters whos names i can't remember?.
Yadirf,
You said:
After the death of the apostles, true Christianity fell by the wayside for the most part. But according to the Bible there would be a resurgence, or restoration, in the days of the 7th King. Today we live in the time of that very “king”. I personally believe that such restoration has been in progress, beginning with Russell.
So by the above quote are you saying the Faithful and Discrete slave has not been alive for almost 2000 years?
But the WT tells us that the slave has been alive for centuries and dispensing food throughout all their existence.
Also:
And so neither Russell or Rutherford were divinely inspired (like Daniel was for example), even though they were “used” in the sense of making themselves available for working in the interest of the Bible’s message for mankind. There have been overzealous entries in WT literature, sure, but like I said: “It’s been an evolving thing … this restoration of true worship.”So if Russell and The Judge were not inspired how did they know for sure that they were, or that the Organization was the only true channel if Jehovah never told them directly?
You can't appoint yourself to be God's Only Channel can you?
Isn't that what can be call a major PRESUMPTION?
